Editing & export

The editor: timeline, scenes, and layers

The editor assembles your storyboard and renders into scenes on an editable timeline, and it is where captions, music, and final tweaks happen before export. Scenes sit on one absolute project clock: the preview player renders the whole project, and the playhead maps one-to-one onto the timeline.

Scenes and building them

Build scenes converts the storyboard and its renders into the timeline. It is safe to re-run: after you change assets or regenerate segments, rebuilding refreshes only the stale scenes while preserving your customizations — animations, positions, and text overlays survive.

Scene transitions are hard cuts by design; entrance and exit animations (including cut and flash variants) come from the storyboard's transition plan.

Layers

Each scene is a stack of layers: image, video, audio, text, shape, and chart. You can add and delete layers and edit position, scale, rotation, opacity, and z-order, plus preset entrance, exit, continuous, and text animations.

Scenes also carry the UI overlays the storyboard authored — lower thirds, callouts, title cards, speech bubbles, and custom text — all editable like any other layer.

The director panel

Every scene has an AI director chat: describe the change in plain English — move this, add a title, drop that layer — and it edits the scene's layers and UI elements directly. Each edit shows its credit cost before it runs, and undo snapshots let you step back. A project-wide director note is also available via the API and MCP, which routes one instruction to every scene it applies to.

What the editor is not

Segment renders don't gate the editor: you can build scenes and work on the timeline while renders are still in flight. When everything looks right, head to export & download.
